In my modest opinion, I say that the Anime is the best version of Valerian and Laureline. Granted, I haven't read the majority of the comics yet, but I am at least at the moment more entertained by the series.
The characters work better together, (definitely better than in the movie), it has really humourous moments, the animation is certainly not bad, and while the Voice Acting is questionable at times, the script is still nice.
