If it's in the /common/ folder, just download the game normally. Steam will say 'detecting existing game files' or something, then it should just download any missing files and you'll be ready to play. Makes sure that A.) There isn't somehow 2 steamapps/common folders B.) That it's looking in the right place for the files. C.) After the above, reboot Steam, then right-click the game and verify the game files.
Plus I know that theres a feature called steam backup but I need to know if I could install a game which ofcourse isnt downloaded from the steam client instead of downloading it again
Edit: the game is PURCHASED from steam but i need to install the game without downloading the whole thing because of my isp data cap
Download Saved Game Files From Steam
I recently had to have my computer reset to factory settings in order to reinstall Windows. Luckily, about two days before it crashed I managed to perform a successful back-up using Windows Backup and Restore Centre. After restoring the old data, I have found the files for Dawn of War II (a disc-based game) but I cannot find the save files for Stacking or Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis (two games I downloaded off Steam).
How To Download Game Files From Steam
Do you have any idea where I might find them so I can transfer them back onto my main hard disk and carry on playing where I left off?
Once you download games from Steam, where do the downloaded files go to?
Thanks.
